The Megara Cave can safely be called one of the most interesting objects for speleological study.
Firstly, it is located within walking distance from "civilization" - the entrance to it is visible from the road passing by.
Secondly, despite the apparent external abandonment, natural decorations of incredible beauty are hidden inside the cave. And thirdly, there is an opinion that these underground galleries additionally have a healing effect on visitors.
Location: the cave is located in the municipality of Podgorica near the village of Tolosi in the depths of Mount Velje.
The Megara Cave boasts very beautiful stalactites and stalagmites
The first exploration of the cave, under the direction of Professor Jovan Petrovic, began in 1962.
It was then that assumptions about its supernatural power appeared, the cave even acquired the epithets "magical" and "terrible".
Three decades later, another speleologist, Vidak Jukić, after visiting these underground depths, came up with the idea of turning the cave into a center for alternative medicine - the scientist suggested that the atmosphere inside it is ideal for treating and alleviating the symptoms of asthma, respiratory diseases and some psychoneurological diseases.
Scientific and speleological study of the Megara Cave has not yet been properly conducted, the first attempts to compile a description of all the galleries and interior spaces were made more than 10 years ago, but the work was never completed. The cave is still waiting for its researchers.

By the way, the situation with the explanation of the origin of the name of this cave is quite interesting.
There are several opinions on this issue. The official name - "Megara" - was given to the cave by Vidak Jukić in honor of the Megarian philosophical school (founded by Socrates' student Euclid). But among the local population it is believed that the name is associated with the words “magic” (due to the mystical properties of the cave).
