The monastery is the most famous Christian sanctuary in Montenegro. Here lie the incorruptible relics of Vasilije Ostrogski (in the world Stojan Jovanovic), the founder of the monastery. Today, he is one of the most revered saints of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Every year, pilgrims from all over the world and of various faiths come here to worship the miraculous relics of St. Vasilije and see with their own eyes the unique architecture of this holy monastery.
