ROUTES IN MONTENEGRO BY CAR
1. Bar – Petrovac – Rezevici – Sveti Stefan, Milocer, Przno – Budva – Bar
- about 80 km
Notes:
- it is better to plan your time so that you can spend the evening in Budva;
- parking in Milocer is the most expensive in Montenegro, so it is better to walk to the park;
- in Budva, it is better to swim and sunbathe on Mogren beach.
2. Bar – Virpazar – Rijeka Crnojevića – Cetinje – Lovcen – Budva – Bar
- about 150 km
Notes:
- all museums in Cetinje close at 17-00; - the Cetinje-Lovcen road is only for experienced drivers.
3. Bar - Ulcinj - Velika plaža - Ada Bojana - Stari Bar - Bar
- about 80 km
Notes:
- plan your time so that you can have lunch in the fish restaurants of Ada Bojana;
- it is better to swim and sunbathe on Velika plaža;
- do not miss the jewelry shops in Ulcinj;
- on the way to Stari Bar - an ancient olive tree (2 thousand years old).
4. Boka Kotorska Bay (option 1): Bar - Budva - ferry Kamenari-Lepetani - Herceg Novi - Perast - Kotor - Bar
- about 200 km
Notes:
- try to wait until dark in Kotor to see the fortress lighting;
- in Perast take a boat to the island of Our Lady of the Rocks.
5. Bay of Kotor (option 2): Bar – Tivat – Kotor – Budva – Bar
- about 150 km
Note:
- to Tivat and Kotor, take the road along the right bank of the Bay of Kotor.
6. Bar – Skadar Lake (Virpazar) – Murici – Virpazar – Bar
- about 50 km
Note:
the Virpazar – Murici road is a narrow mountain serpentine, so this part is recommended only for very experienced drivers; for others, it is better to take a boat tour of the lake islands.
7. Bar – Herceg Novi – Dubrovnik (Croatia) – Cavtat (Croatia) – Herceg Novi – Bar
Note:
- there are big problems with parking in Dubrovnik, so we recommend leaving the car away from the center and using a taxi (or walking).
8. Bar - Podgorica - Kolasin - Moraca Canyon - Mojkovac - Tara Canyon - Zabljak (overnight) - Bar
- about 500 km, designed for 2-3 days
9. Bar Ostrog Podgorica - Bar
- about 170 km.
Notes:
- part of the road (closer to Ostrog) is a mountain serpentine;
- along the way, do not miss the rock monastery Dajbabe.
10. Budva - (Skadar Lake) - (Niagara Falls) - Podgorica - (Moraca River Canyon) - (Moraca Monastery) - Kolasin - (Biograd Lake) - Mojkovac - (Tara River Canyon) - (Djurdjevic Bridge) - Zabljak - (Black Lake)
- about 250 km.
Notes:
- it is better to leave early, as the road is mostly a mountain serpentine, on which the speed is 20-40 km/h;
- there is no Niagara Falls today, as the stream that feeds it has dried up.
