TIPS FOR DRIVING ON MONTENEGRO'S ROADS

Montenegro is a very beautiful and diverse country, with a large number of attractions. Some of them can be visited during excursions, but even for 2 people, renting a car is cheaper and more convenient.

The whole country is small. You understand that in just 3-5 days you can visit all the most interesting places and turn a banal vacation into an unforgettable adventure for the whole family. And renting a car is just perfect for this purpose.

When you have already decided on the choice of car and got behind the wheel, then pay attention to several points or WHAT OUR POLICE LIKE TO FINE:

1 The headlights must always be on. The fine is 30 euros.

2 Fasten your seat belt. The fine is 30 euros.

3 Child seat for a child.

Speed.

The police often stand with a radar. We are accustomed to permissible errors of +10 +20 km speed, in Montenegro there is no such thing. I recommend driving according to the signs. If your speed is 10 km more than on the sign, the fine is from 30 to 100 euros. The speed is higher than 30 km, the fine is from 50 euros and higher. In populated areas, it is better not to break the rules at all. Montenegrins love to speed on the roads, but they are also very common.

5 It is necessary to have your passport with you.

6 Parking. Choose your parking place carefully. In all tourist cities, the SPIDER system works very well, when they take away your car. The fine is 100 euros. I recommend using paid parking (0.5 euros - 1.2 euros / hour). Do not park on green lawns. The fine is 50 euros.

And some more advice that my Montenegrin friends gave me:

A serpentine country, there can be a turn around every corner. Do not speed.
Do not go to the opposite side on turns. No matter how safe it may seem to you at this moment. How many times have I stopped myself from doing this, and rightly so, out of nowhere the car flew out of the turn.

In the rain - ASPHALT IS VERY SLIPPERY!

Montenegrins drive recklessly on the roads.

Blood alcohol from 0.3 g/kg to 0.5 g/kg. (Isključenje vozača iz saobraćaja Član 290)
