A metal mug. It is needed to boil water from natural sources. Even if you have clean water with you, a mug will still come in handy. Hot drinks give strength and help to warm up.
Whistle. Screaming for a long time is tiring, you can lose your voice while calling for help. The whistle can be heard from afar.
I will add a few additional recommendations from a friend who is a sports orienteering athlete and a malicious hiker.
1. Take with you, in addition to a smartphone, an old phone. It is more reliable and holds a charge for a long time.
2. Take a mini-first aid kit and be sure to take antihistamines.
3. Cloudberry grows everywhere, it is very watery, a handful will replace a glass of water - it is better to save it.
4. Take a large machete, and not only for cutting a path. It will also replace a hatchet. But the main thing is that if you stick it higher into a tree, it is an excellent lightning rod.
5. You can freeze at night in your sleep even in summer. It is better to stay awake until dawn and sleep during the day.
6. If you find a path, you are no longer lost, but confused. It will lead you somewhere.
7. Do not drink stagnant water, even if you want to. Look for moss, it absorbs water and it is always safe.
8. Frogs are good for food, but toads are poisonous, albeit not very much.
9. A mini megaphone is cheap and weighs little, and the sound carries far.
10. Mushrooms, except for puffballs, have negative calories and will not add strength. But hazelnuts are just a treasure.
11. Rainwater is always suitable for drinking, do not listen to nonsense about acid rain.
12. If you see a fox, it is rabid. Foxes never show themselves to people.
13. Beware not of wolves, but of packs of feral dogs. For every wolf attack on a person, there are, on average, dozens of attacks by packs of feral dogs. An excellent remedy for them is a jet gas canister, with their sense of smell and mucous membranes, the effect is like a grenade.
14. Do not rely on berries, diarrhea - pardon me, will weaken the body and take away strength.
15. Do not take canned food with you, excess weight. And not in the gym, proteins are needed last of all. First - carbohydrates, second - fats. Ideally, crackers and lard. But water is more important than food
